Welcome to the eleventh main podcast episode which contains the usual mix of new and old.
First up was F Gary Gray’s biopic of the hip-hop band NWA, Straight Outta Compton. Much to everyone’s surprise, Robert was the one who pushed for this to be reviewed so led out the reviews. Rumour has it there may be a rap element to the review.
The home release for the month is Thomas Vinterberg’s new adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s classic novel, Far From The Madding Crowd. Would the beautiful scenery overpower the quality of the story?
The final film for this episode is the classic comedy, Weird Science. Featuring the crush of many a teenager from the eighties, Kelly Le Brock, would this film still be as funny as it seemed back then?
The next podcast will be in our Foundation Film string of extras and will be the classic Steven Spielberg movie, Jaws, which is fast approaching its 40th anniversary. We are also hoping to be able to put together a quick review of the new adaptation of Macbeth which has been released to some very good reviews and stars Michael Fassbender. Our Next main podcast will feature the cinema release Sicario, starring Benicio del Toro, Emily Blunt and Josh Brolin. The podcast will also feature two classic movies, Halloween and The man Who Would Be King.
